Decent spot when you're choices are limited. So I was in the GF's hometown over the 4th of July and this was one of their regular lunch hangouts. Nice and casual sports bar type place. I had the tenderloin sandwich with onion rings. Everybody else had the steak sandwich. Everything was decent. The steak is better than the tenderloin though. Service was friendly. Nothing mind blowing but nothing terrible. On par of what a small Pennsylvania town eatery should be.

Great lunch food, reasonable prices. Good service. Would definitely come back! Skip the sweet potato fries and try the beer battered.

Great burgers, fries, cheesesteaks Only thing keeping this from a five star? Heinz ketchup!!! Please, for the love of God, stop with that generic stuff!

The food was outstanding. It was packed when we got here and still had great service!

It was our first time there, and after being seated for 10 minutes our server finally took the drink order which was a martini and a beer. We also orders apps and sandwiches at this time. The beer came... The apps came.... The sandwiches came....and still no martini! I asked twice about it and just got "it's coming." It finally came when I was nearly done with the entree and no adjustment to the bill was made. The food was all average to good. We would try the place again, hoping for a better server.

Ahhhh....."Detzi's " A home sports theme Bar away from home. Warm, comfortable, and I may add, clean atmoshere. Menu is a treat with daily soups and specials including their noteable and tasty standbys, cheesteaks, burgers, pizza, and interesting sandwiches, in addition to their dinner menu. Many beers to choose from. I had a nice IPA last visit. The staff is friendly, courteous and accomodating. Interesting sports memorabilia everywhere. See the website. Above all , The Detzi Boys, make you feel like your family. Although they're normally very busy, they always take time to chat or at least acknowledge you ! The regular customers are nice also. You can tell they're treated right. The new deck looks beautifully relaxing, and an overall compliment to this establisment. I'm an hour away, wish I was closer, but I try to include it in my travel whenever I'm even remotely close. It's just the kind of place, you'll want to return to.

I was in here a number of years ago and not much has changes. It has a nice casual atmosphere, small bar and good sized dining areas. The specials seem to be a pretty good value and the food was good "comfort" style food. The service was solid and overall it seems like you would find good consistency here. Good spot to stop and grab a meal and a drink if looking for something in the area.

We've gone back a few times w/ much improvement over our visit several months ago. In all fairness, Detzi's does a lot of business, & they attempt to cater to the families, the barflies, & the sports-enthusiasts. Be warned that Detzi's can fill up FAST on any given night after work. Their food is really good, & we enjoy the impressive selection of beers they have on tap & in bottles. They offer a decent variety of wing flavors on their wing night, they have good-sized portions, & there is a different special each night. This is one of the few places left where one can still get a properly-made German Pie (pizza) similar to Mateo's. This place, for us, is best during the off-times when the crowds have dispersed a bit.

we just order food at Detzi's and I must say it was delicious!!! I got the triple decker turkey bacon club very very fresh, turkey was dry the way I like it with tons of flavor! my fiance got there 12 wings HOT and he is a huge critic very hard to please, but he actually loved them said they were made well, sauce was really good and they really load it with sauce, the blue cheese was great and he loved the fresh crisp celery!! Awesome Job!!! we will be going back soon!!! All the staff were very friend, the place itself was clean and bright, lots of people!!

Very casual. Great hamburger.

We've ordered pretty much everything from here...cheesesteaks, burgers, nachos, desserts...everything and we haven't had any disappointments. The brew city fries should be added to your meal, they're delish!

When we found that The Galley was closed, we hightailed it over to Detzi's for my final meal in PA. You can seat yourself and have the option of going to the bar area where there are booths or to the dining room with many tables. We opted for the dining room and sat near the very pretty Christmas tree. We ordered the calamari to share and I think all of my family ordered some variation of a chicken wrap sandwich. I, however, went for a chicken cheesesteak with mushrooms and onions and a side of pierogies. The calamari was lightly battered and fried and I found it to be quite tender. It was served with a side of marinara sauce and was quickly devoured. All of us enjoyed our respective sandwiches and were too full for dessert. Detzi's is a local favorite and is warm and welcoming to its patrons. Parking is a plenty and it's easy to locate. A definite winner in Wind Gap.

Detzi's is one of the only places in the Wind Gap/Pen Argyl area of the Slate Belt to eat lunch, unless you want pizza or fast food (the Slate Pub being the only other "tavern" type places I can think of at the moment). It is crowded for lunch, with customers ranging from families to older couples. Most diners seem to be regulars, as there is a lot of conversation between patrons at different tables. This is definitely a casual atmosphere, given the sports paraphernalia adorning the walls, but the prices were a little higher than I expected (Almost $15 including tip for a cheesesteak, onion rings, and a soda). Despite the price, the quality of the food was good, particularly the bread the steak came on, perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and served warm. While the prices will probably deter me from making regular stops as I conduct business in the Slate Belt, I would absolutely recommend Detzi's as a great place for a lunch date or a few beers.

Good neighborhood restaurant. Never had a bad meal here. Never had a stellar meal here. Generally, good service. Sometimes it can get very crowded because, honestly, there's no many more places in the area to go! I'd rather eat at Scorecard a mile down the road. The crowd here is usually older, whereas Scorecard's crowd down the street is on the younger side.

We've been here many a time over the years. Very friendly and warm service, sports themed, clean, and moderately priced good food. When its busy, there is a wait, the hostess will seat you. I think during slow times, you can seat yourself. On the walls you will find a lot of sports memorabilia, pictures and/or autographs of famous patrons throughout the years, photos of famous folks who grew up in the area (Jane Mansfield), plus sports photos of the triplet Dietzi Sons (who own and manage-John, Joe, and Jeff). Anyway, the food is tasty and fresh, with no major flourishes. Their verison of a philly cheese steak is more mild italian, with cheese and herbs melted and blended into the minced steak, topped with a red sauce. One of their star dishes is the Fish and Chips, very delicious. They also have sweet potato fries as an option. We have had many a fresh tender burger there, and at this point, have not been disappointed by anything we have gotten there yet to date.
